Accessibility Statement

1. Our Commitment

Novaralis is built for students, clinicians, and researchers, and that includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We are working to make the Service usable by as many people as possible, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs rather than as feature requests.

2. Standard We Are Working Toward

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, and they are the benchmark most commonly applied to web services in the United States.

3. What We Have Done

• Form fields are programmatically associated with their visible labels, so assistive technology announces the right prompt rather than falling back to placeholder text.
• Every image conveys its meaning through alternative text, or is marked as decorative.
• Interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, and visible focus styling is preserved rather than removed.
• The page language is declared, so screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
• Buttons that show only an icon carry an accessible name describing what they do.

4. Known Limitations

We would rather tell you what is not yet right than claim conformance we cannot demonstrate. As of the date above, we are aware that:

• The Service has not yet been audited end to end against WCAG 2.1 AA by an independent tester. Our assessment is based on internal review.
• The rich-text document editor is built on a third-party component, and its keyboard and screen-reader behaviour has not been fully verified.
• The evidence table is a wide, scrollable data table; navigating it with a screen reader may be cumbersome on small screens.
• Some colour combinations in secondary text may not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio at every size.
• Content retrieved from external scholarly databases arrives as those providers supply it, and we cannot guarantee its structure.

These are on our list. If one of them is blocking you specifically, please tell us — we will prioritise accordingly.

5. Telling Us About a Problem

If you encounter a barrier anywhere in Novaralis, email hello@novaralis.com with the word "Accessibility" in the subject line. It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and which assistive technology and browser you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to tell you what we intend to do about the issue and roughly when.

6. Alternative Access

If any part of the Service is unusable for you, contact us and we will work with you to provide the information or function another way while we fix the underlying problem.

7. Institutional Requests

Institutions evaluating Novaralis and needing an accessibility conformance report (for example a VPAT) should contact hello@novaralis.com. We will tell you honestly where we stand rather than supplying a document we cannot support.
